Hi guys and welcome back, I would once again be diving into the world of The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt.
I wouldn't have been surprised at all. However jumping back into this murky world while sat in the passenger seat of my car. I didn't see that one coming at all I'll do this right.
I'm not just gonna jump straight into the visuals so feel free to skip ahead to that section if you want prepare yourself for a hyperbolic superlative fest worthy of the astounding job CD Projekt RED have done here. Let's find out.
If you're unfamiliar with the series then you play as Geralt of Rivia Witcher by day and Witcher by 9 as well actually for a negotiable quantity of gold. He'll handle any pesky monster problems you may have an in his spare time aside from taking baths. He enjoys the company offer companions.
The beauty of The Witcher is how seamlessly they integrate you as a player within a world wracked by its own man-made turmoil with an ongoing war. Several conflicts still fresh in its recent history the moment-to-moment visual.
Storytelling is a key aspect of the series. But never was it done on quite this scale walking through piles of corpses or the hanging bodies of war ravaged victims which litter the countryside sit in stark just position to the latter cities and towns of the game.
The tale will lead you across what feels like years of in-game time with strange and unique quests. Even that bloody goat of both charming and heart-wrenching ly difficult sidelines to ignore The Witcher 3 strikes. The perfect balance between gritty drama and more lighthearted moments.

You are essentially on a search for your missing daughter a journey and motivation which will drive the tale for much of its run time. Old friends will join you and others betray you and by its conclusion.
You'll have seen and experienced more than one world in this
epic tale. You control the witcher 3 from a third-person perspective long
journeys will be made on horseback as you carry out a variety of side missions
and content with dialogue between yourself and the locals.
Allowing for numerous choices selectable with the left analog and further options becoming available as you progress in the game.
Combat is where the witcher 3 excels if you're a fan of the Monster Hunter series. There are some fights in the game that will truly test your skills and dependent on your difficulty chosen switching between your normal.
Silver weapons becomes an essential. But challenging dance of death special skills can be quickly fired off and as with other RPG games that these become more potent as the game goes on with different enemies weak to certain ones.
Your Witcher senses and shift with a fisheye lens and allow you to search for clues and highlight bloodstains and other such bodily or monster material for further investigation.
You'll find yourself traipsing around in this mode often looking for vital clues and they're cleverly fed into the main and side questing experience. The final aspect of the gameplay of The Witcher is the sheer unbridled freedom. It brings if you can see it. Then you can go there bring it up your map is easy enough.
While in the earlier game you're limited to the area, you can traverse the world opens up in the second half allowing almost limitless freedom.
This includes the ability to take a boat out into the mirror like water and dive for buried treasure on that subject much of my original game time was spent seeking out buried treasure from the multitude of maps dotted about the game world be it on a scrap of paper left on a corpse or hidden away in a rich Lords wardrobe.

The adventure exists way outside of the core story one of the nicest aspects of The Witcher 3, from a questing standpoint, how varied they are.
Yes, you'll have your fetch quests in one form or another. There are a great deal of unusual side lines like track in a straight goat using your Witcher senses which as mentioned.
Allow you to find clues throughout the world much like the
Batman Arkham series and you'll be solving and uncovering your fair share of
mysterious deaths massacred families and missing kin books within.
The game will add further embellishment to an already packed law and shops and vendors dotted about the land give further incentives to make more gold by completing quests and slaying beasts gameplay is as good as it ever was.
We'll discuss in the next section the visuals do take a hit. They've maintained the excellent gameplay that made it so compelling to begin with. I honestly didn't think, I'd be holding Geralt of Rivia in the palm of my hand hang on. Gameplay scores 19 out of 20. It controls well on switch with similar button layouts from.
Its console counterparts summoning your horse is as easy as a whistle with a button push and the combat lock on and heavy and light attacks are all present and correct.
The only negative in terms of controls really comes from using a controller in the first place as I previously played with a mouse and keyboard.
You might in the heat of battle struggle to quickly whip the camera around whereas back on PC. I found it a touch easier, it really isn't an issue at I also would have loved motion controls. But perhaps that's really getting a little bit greedy for me. Control score 18 out of 20 now.
I've got to be honest when I walked out to my balcony in the star area of Kerr Morin in handheld mode, actually felt a little bit emotional had the same thing. When I walked from the beginning area to the gray plateau in brief with the wild and again when I was 10 and got to the scene in Golden eye on the n64 will you leap from that bridge.

I guess the closest word would be or I am in awe of what CD Projekt RED have achieved with the hardware available, the Tegra one was meant as a mobile tablet chipset and here it is pushing trees shrubbery and foliage as far as the eye can see.
They've dropped the shadow maps as much as possible without you actually casting a single giant pixel for a shadow.
There is a touch of blur to the visuals in handheld. But
still these look incredible particularly considering just how demanding a title
The Witcher 3 was and still is on some pcs.
One of the most important aspects of those visuals, other lighting systems in place and this has been excellent leary lized and when transitioning from a light to dark area.
We've got at least to my eye the ambient occlusion. The developers were so determined to shoehorn into the build this gives a real depth to the images and regardless of the slight blur.
But when in motion the game looks excellent reflections and transparency have miraculously also made it across with Geralt reflected in the water of his bath.
The movement of trees shown walked through the frosted glass of a room as if to show off further CD Projekt RED have included options to remove.
The fisheye effect if you so choose from the menu as well as allowing you to turn off the motion blur. General blur if needed in terms of performance the game's targeting 30 frames per second and of course it doesn't always achieve that.
But it does do a great job of even masking dips with that motion blur while also maintaining control fluidity or dynamically scaling. The visuals to increase performance for the most part it's a wonderful experience to be had in handheld.
But realistic expectations must be in place. You have that slight blur there Shaw and low times there okay some tend to be a touch longer. While obviously in the main well map. You'll be free of this in terms of the audio the astounding soundtrack has been brought across faithfully and to my ear doesn't suffer the huge and jarring levels of audio down sampling.

We've seen in some ports such as Dark Souls which to be fair, it wasn't an issue for me. But caused many others no end of grief now.
Evil way the 35 track original score is all here with the astounding voice work from Doug cockle who voices Geralt of Rivia guess she prefers practice to fearing a multitude of other cast members.
Also doing an excellent job visual scores 19 out of 20. They
still look fantastic regardless of the slight downgrade and getting lost in
this world on the go is quite literally insane, audio scores 20 out of 20 with
a wonderful score and outstanding voice work throughout.
Its lengthy runtime now the game costs 49 pounds ninety-nine, fifty nine euros ninety nine or $59 ninety-nine.
All of the DLC released so far and also comes on a single physical cartridge if that's the route you choose to go in terms of value.
You're looking at anywhere between a hundred to three hundred hours of gameplay. We aren't talking stale filler filled gameplay. But rich story filled and often challenging contents.
I am many others will be more than happy to spend that time all over again and I feel CD Projekt RED couldn't really do any more in terms of the content and effort put into bringing this over to the switch. If you're not intending on playing it in handheld though and you just want to experience it for the first time.

You should be looking elsewhere as you'll save money and really have a superior visual experience as for me. My house will be Wittering on the go value scores 18 out of 20 now. I did warn of the hyperbolic nature this review may take. But I've tried to not be completely over-the-top. I love The Witcher 3.
I can't recommend it highly enough the visuals do take a hit on the system. They're more than enough to have me dive silversword back into this one. I think, I've ever given fitting for one of my favorite games of all time. A big thanks to all of you who support this blog. We really couldn't do it without you, and as always for all things switch all the time keep it switch your up.
